Congratulations AHS Improv on your highly successful first show for the year! The improv troupe performed for the residents of Sunrise Assisted Living on Friday Sept 17th. The room was packed and their efforts were very well received. The Center extended an open invitation to return when their schedule allows. Way to go folks!

Congratulations to Jeremy Goldman and Sarah Whiteford, who were selected as Semi-finalists for Md Distinguished Scholar of the Arts awards for 2010-2011. Sarah competed in vocal music and Jeremy in drama. This scholarship program is administered by the State of MD and is designed to encourage talented students to attend college in Maryland. Juniors are given the opportunity to audition at the school level in the spring in one of 5 categories: dance, vocal music, instrumental music, visual arts and drama. Each school can send up to 5 nominees to the state level competition, which takes place in June at HCC. Many MD schools waive their application fee for MD Distinguished Scholars and winners may receive up to $3000 a year in scholarship money to attend a MD school.
